The FilmMachine

Watching a movie can be more comfortable if it is in DVD format. You can play it on mostly any computer or DVD player, without any problems. If you want to store your favorite videos on DVDs, you can use The FilmMachine to create playable movie DVDs. The application is capable of converting video files, in AVI, MP4, MOV and other formats to DVD. It can burn movies to a DVD or save them as an ISO file and it allows you to make numerous settings along the way.

The software is free and you can download it in less than a minute, with a modern day Internet connection. Besides a desktop shortcut and Start menu items, you can opt for various codecs, audio encoders and other tools. You also need to install Cinema Craft Encoder, Canopus Procoder, Minnetonka Surcode DVD DTS encoder or Sonic Foundry Soft Encode separately.

The FilmMachine will guide you through the entire procedure, just like a wizard. Once you load one or more video files, you may proceed to the next stage, by clicking a Next button. You will have to select a video and an AC3 encoder, from separate drop menus, choose a 4:3 or a 16:9 aspect ratio and more. You may select other options as well, to boost the audio volume, upmix the stereo audio to 5.1 or convert the video from NTSC to PAL and vice versa.

During the next stages, you can choose a DVD size, select a predefined audio bitrate or specify one yourself. You can also decide to burn a DVD or to create an ISO image. The application allows you to add subtitle tracks as well. You may add permanent or selectable subtitles and make different settings, depending on your choice.

When you reach the final stage, you can preview the results or create your DVD right away. You don't have to make any further settings while The FilmMachine is creating your DVD. The software will not drain your computer's resources, so you can let it work in the background and focus on other tasks.
